Is it just me, or is it a bit creepy to end a sentence about the domination of humanity with a little smiley face?

Slip into the whimsical "what if?" mode for a moment. Think about it - if you had just gotten off your cruise ship that had docked in port for a day somewhere and were wandering around the town, and heard a giant crashing roar and a clamour of screams from behind you....you turned back to look at the ship and saw those armed monsters and the ship snapped in half - what would you do? It would be something out of a sci-fi horror movie, leaving those on shore with slim to uncertain chances of survival. You could run and hide, you could start screaming, OR - you could laugh at the preposterousness of the whole situation. Smile in the face of adversity!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, I think you've just rebooted Pacific Rim. (Which is well timed considering that they've just announced a sequel - lord knows why, it wasn't a big money maker and had a fairly definitive conclusion.)
ReplyDeleteI recommended Cloverfield to you at one point - did you ever watch it? Probably the most realistic man-on-the-street rendition of a giant monster attack. Not much laughing.
