Thank-you - you have inspired my next blog posting. Although it won't be "geek packing" to explore the sci-fi scene in Austin, it will be "yoga guru" packing for the teachers' retreat :-)
Considering that it was just sort of randomly assembled for my trip to Texas, this is actually a fairly comprehensive cross-section of fandom. There's a Star Wars computer game; StarCraft, which I've mentioned in previous posts; a comic book movie (Iron Man 2); two horror films, one based on a video game; a Star Trek movie featuring both Original Series and Next Generation characters; a British fantasy film, Solomon Kane, based on a classic Robert E. Howard character; Doctor Who episodes on iPad and one of my DW t-shirts; and finally my copy of Game of Thrones, purchased many years before the TV adaptation.
Where you going?
ReplyDeleteAlready there, actually. Four day graphic design conference in Austin, Texas. (Yee ha, as the locals say.) Details to follow.
